Awkwafina

Awkwafina has been described as an American performer and actor who began her career with innovative raps which addressed sexuality and racial identities with the most comical of perspectives. Then she branched out to Hollywood. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants was her first musical encounter. She was a trumpet player. The classical, jazz, and hip-hop studies began when she was a teenager. In school, she concentrated on the field of journalism as well as women's studies. She also studied Mandarin during a time in Beijing. Following graduation, she decided to concentrate on music. The track My Vag, a response track to the Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity through the Internet in 2012. It eventually made it in the album debut Yellow Ranger released in 2014. It also included other hit songs that went viral, such as the body-positive Queef as well as the cheeky hometown tour NYC Bitche$1. The last track was closely linked to Awkwafina's NYC travel guide, published in 2015. After having a great career as a performer and songwriter, she decided to take on the role of actor. In addition to early shows like Girl Code and Tawk she was also featured in movies such as Neighbors 2, Storks and Bad Rap. In 2018, she landed a series of notable performances, which included Dude Ocean 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. It was in June that she debuted her debut film, In Fina We Trust.
